True! But it's a balancing act I'm not keen on dealing with, since e.g. doubling the guitars with trombones or cellos contributes very little of use IMO. Tried it in a few places and didn't like the results, so I decided on letting the metal instruments do their thing and use the orchestra in the higher register.

Even in its incomplete state, it's one of the best things I've ever heard. I don't know how to describe why I feel this way. Something about its crackling energy. I can almost hear the joy in it; maybe not the music itself at every single moment, but the genuine pleasure the composer takes in putting together notes.

Wow, thank you Terry! Yes, I did have a lot of fun writing it. Hopefully this tune will be finished relatively soon, but of course, being an overture it's only the first part of a bigger project.
