Yes, I am running a 64bit operating system. Also Reaper has builtin abilities to use 32 bit plugins in the 64 bit version and 32 bit plugins in the 64 bit version.

Closing the plugin is no problem. I didn't try to minimize it, though I think I noticed there was no minimize button. Not unusual for an effects plugin in Reaper, I don't think any of them can be minimized, but if I want 2 effects visible at the same time, yours will always be the top one. Normally when I want more than one plugin open on the screen at a time, the most recently clicked is the one on top. Certainly if Reaper is open but I'm using any other application, all of the Reaper effects / windows are capable of being covered by whatever is the current window, except for your reverb which remains the top most window as long as your plugin is open.

Might I suggest a "Distance" parameter for controlling the balance between early and late reflections? I.e. Distance 0 = only early reflections, Distance 100 = only late reflections, and all the steps inbetween.

I might add that I'm not experiencing the on-top problem that Paul mentions, though I believe we are not using the same version of REAPER.

Paul, have you made sure you haven't accidentally clicked the "Always on top" pin on the floating FX window?

The plugin gives you full control over ER Level, via the "Early" slider on the right. When I said fixed 20%, I was referring to ER Send, which is the level of ER that gets fed into the late reverb.

Nice, I just wanted to make sure I understood correctly. While designing this, I kind of dismissed ER Send as being way too subtle to warrant a dial in the minimalist interface, but for all I knew maybe you found it really important in relation to stage depth.

I didn't knowingly press the pin. I do see that by default the pin is already pushed when I load the plugin to a new track. When I unpress the pin, then as soon as I click outside the reverb plugin, the graphical interface closes - also not how other plugins behave. Other plugins, when the pin is not pressed, simply allow themselves to be covered by another window. Perhaps the behaviour I'm seeing with the Dragonfly reverb has something to do with the 64 to 32 bit bridge in Reaper. I don't think I'm using any other 64 bit plugins yet.

Ah, I didn't know you were using 32-bit REAPER. Yes, that is indeed the default and expected behavior when bridging a plugin, as it is launched in a separate process. You can right-click a plugin in the FX browser, and under "Run as" there is an option called "Embed Bridged UI" which will get a bridged plugin to behave like a native one.

That worked. The plugin now behaves as expected. When unpinned, other windows will now overlap it properly. Problem solved.

I've been working on an update to this project: added three new dials (width, spin, wander), rearranged the interface so that you can navigate presets and see the spectrogram at the same time, and generally gave it a lot of polish.



I'm particularly wondering if any of you windows users could give it another try, as I still have no way to test the win vst. Download it from here:

Edit: I've confirmed that it works on Mac and Linux, but certainly welcome feedback from people using those platforms as well.
