Yeah, makes you wonder what the point of all this fancy tech is when the samples are like tracker quality?
At the rate Neural Network tech is expanding, we'll be at 44.1/16 stereo within 5 years, I reckon. nVidia is working on a new graphics series that is designed to make the training of these neural networks much faster, so training it at higher sample rates and bit depths is going to get a lot easier. For now, at least, as I understand it, the issue is bandwidth/processing power. In short, developing sample libraries as we know it is probably going to go from business to hobby in about a decade or two.
