Strezov Sampling Christmas sale

Using the code "xmas19" you can get €50 off all Strezov libs older than one year (how to determine the age of the products I have no idea, you'll have to try and apply the code). I snagged the trombone section and the samples are NOT locked, so you can map them in any sampler if you so desire. Otherwise, full version of Kontakt is required.

I have the Strezov Horns. It appears the samples are not locked for those either. They are not my main horns: I just keep them in the template for the mutes. The legato transitions are very clunky to play in the Kontakt patches. They also take an inordinate amount of time to load, even from an SSD. All in all, though, that's a pretty sweet deal!

I took advantage of this sale and grabbed the trombones, as well. The stopped and muted samples will fill a gap in my template. I was concerned that my trombone section consists of three bones, and Strezov's is only two, but I decided I was probably splitting hairs. The price was right, and I figured in the the end no one would really notice. The idea of pseudo-divisi within sections sounds kind of fun too.

The Kontakt patches load more quickly than the Strezov horns, too.

All in all I'd say it's worth spending the $8 USD, or whatever it came out to, if the sale is still on.

I was worried about section size as well, but with a careful blend of microphone positions I think they can be made to sound quite big. And you can always double them with a separate bass trombone too.

Yep! I was rather impressed with the sound, too. All in all, not a bad idea. I wonder if the woodwind sections would be worth it. Those are a bit more money though.
