Forgotten Instruments - Samulis - 06-30-2016

Between 1865 and 1872, a fellow named Schreiber made some very cool horns...

Just last week, a number of brass collectors got together to play some of these wild looking horns en masseĀ for the first time in what might be 100 years. Such a wild sight! On the left are cornets, altos/tenors in the mid to right, and bass off to the far right.

Think how easy mic'ing would be with these babies. "Place one spot mic above bell." Big Grin

My dad was a career French Horn player. I'm sure he'll be interested in seeing this video (as I was). Thanks for posting this.
