Generating Mic Positions - Samulis - 10-09-2016 I came across this interesting article while browsing through my inbox. I thought it might be interesting to discuss the merits of generating mic positions (e.g. using a mixed wet/dry reverb signal as a far mic, or isolating a main mic to mono and adding eq as a close mic)- https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/audio/tips-and-solutions/fake-it-till-you-make-it-no-room-mic-no-cry RE: Generating Mic Positions - Mattias Westlund - 10-09-2016 Thanks! Bookmarked. I've always struggled with bringing close mic'd sampled drum kits to life, and just adding in a touch of drum room ambience (whether algo or convo) never seems to do the trick. Definitely going to give this a shot. Yes, I understand that you posted this as a "general use" type of technique but I'll need to experiment with the process before I can comment on how it can be used beyond drums ![]() RE: Generating Mic Positions - Samulis - 10-09-2016 (10-09-2016, 06:18 PM)Mattias Westlund Wrote: Thanks!
