Well in roughly half an hour a concert will stream live on my VR goggles, Oculus Go, from nearby Red Rocks. I'm pretty excited to see if it works / how it looks and such. The concert and several more this summer are free for Go users though something tells me eventually they will start charging.
The demo concert footage in something called MelodyVR looks terrible, but some backstage footage by a group called NextVR and also their sports stuff looks good and I think they are producing this so fingers crossed. If you aren't familiar with VR at its best it is like being there though with a pound of electronic strapped to your face. At it worst it is low resolution and nauseating like being trapped in someone's vacation VHS tape as they wave the camera wildly.
Details to follow.
