I realized I never posted this track here for some reason.
A few months ago I was asked by the Battle for Wesnoth developers to compose a new main menu track for the game. As I was still working on the FFL soundtrack at the time I wasn't able to get very far, but I've returned to it over the last week and now it's largely finished except for polish and tweaks.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the game, Wesnoth is an open source turn-based strategy game that has been around for ages. It was Wesnoth that got me started doing game music in earnest back in 2006, and this new tune is an overture based on various tracks I did for the game, plus a couple of themes (or, well, interpretations of themes) by Aleksi Aubry-Carlson and Doug Kaufman.
Again I used my old orchestral template for this one, as the rest of the Wesnoth music is getting kind of long in the tooth by now and I felt that the sound of the old template would blend in better.
I'm curious to hear what you think, especially if you've played the game in the past and have some familiarity with the music.
