Indeed, the tech aspect of virtual orchestration can be a bit daunting at first, but once you've got a working setup, it's pretty much endless fun.

Once you've got your DAW and virtual instruments up and running, I recommend reading the tutorials by Mattias Westlund. Other than that, feel free to ask if anything comes up.
