WOWWWW that update is killer... I might recommend trying the other piano if you haven't already, it has a mellower tone than Upright 1... unless you are using Upright 1 because it cuts through mixes nicely and has a pretty high end, which is fine. Not many people realize it, but Upright 1 is only sampled on the C's and G's (I only had about 20-30 minutes to sample the whole piano- it was originally designed just as a test, but I was never able to return and finish it). Miraculously it sounds pretty coherent as long as you don't try any chromatic runs, haha. I've attempted to sample a few more uprights, but never finished. I've since learned to convince Simon Dalzell to do it because he is insanely good at sampling pianos.
Really great work Mattias. I love the direction you're taking the piece in and I had to remind myself several times while listening that this was done with freeware that one can go online and download right now. So amazing how far we have all come in the last decade with all these libraries.
Edit: at 1:11, I would recommend using a cymbal stick hit or a scrape (tisss). I think it will sound nicer than the beater in that place. SUPER nitpick, hahaha
