I'd love to try it out, though it will be a few days before I have time to do it.
I don't think mod wheel really has a standard meaning anymore. A very long time ago, it was consistently used to add vibrato, but these days it just seems to be whatever the sound designer figured was the thing they wanted to make it easiest for the performer to control, since it's one of the few controllers found on every keyboard. Sometimes they'll use two controllers for the same function: the standard one (73 in this case) and also mod wheel.
