Because there aren't enough free orchestral things out now!   Anyway I started messing about with the Philharmonia samples and started with the easiest one. So here is a 74 sample, 2 velocity layer banjo because every orchestra needs a good banjo. I did three versions, WIPs for the fake round robins, CC1 Xfade and Ensemble. Of course it uses the latest version of Kontakt so absolutely no one here will be able to try it!
I did hand edit each sample and they are in wave format so that might help someone?

I forgot I did use some of the samples for my DIY Philharmonic which was just shells. Here's the whole shebang of that complete with samples, since I can do that... These will play with older Kontakt 5. A bit sporadic in volumes and start points.

One of these days I'll update to Kontakt 5 and I'll have all these goodies waiting for me! Of course by then you'll have a ton of libraries out for Kontakt 6 or 7...

Thanks Nayrb. I'm sure I'll get bored and wander off someday. Everytime I get bored though something like Sam's VSCO2 gets me interested again or the thought that I can use the Philharmonia samples after all. It's a fun time to be, like me, poor and interested in music. I was thinking the other day about how expensive any form of music making was when I was young. Now we can do so much. But I'm rambling...

I'm certainly with you on that. I've always just been a (serious) hobbyist with all this stuff, but I remember ten years ago just drooling over stuff I wanted but couldn't hope to afford. And there certainly wasn't any good quality free stuff out there. AND if there was, getting it to work on my parents' old Dell was a trip...
