Now that you've explained how it works, it makes a lot more sense to me, Paul.
What is the difference between a hard key press/soft key press (velocity) on a low expression and a high expression? My concern is that the key velocity will get in the way of the crossfading- or does key velocity not matter because you don't even define it? I have to go on another "opcode safari" and try to figure out if it's possible to repurpose key velocity to other things... on the Pro Edition, we had lower key velocities create a slight attack fade while higher ones were the straight attack. This is superbly playable, in particular with strings- you can get such a range of notes and it is very intuitive.
