I know, this isn't virtual orchestration by any stretch of the imagination. But as I know there are a lot of people on here who are also very much into ethnic/traditional stuff and using virtual instruments for either faking or reinforcing live performances, I figured this might be worth a mention. Moreover, I have never really shared these tunes with anyone even though they're eight years old by now.
Winter Fair is a project that has been at the back of my head since 2008. It was written during a time when I was heavily into Jethro Tull and Irish traditional music and learning to play the tin whistle. Loreena McKennit's wonderful A Winter Garden EP was also a big inspiration and I was generally aiming for a wintry, pagan-esque, alternative christmas carol type of sound.
Anyway, I've always felt that these are some pretty good tunes that deserve to be recorded properly. I've made several atttempts over the years, but for some reason or other it has never happened. So... I'm just throwing this out there. Anyone who'd be interested in collaborating on this project?
Not for a 2016 release, obviously, but maybe for next year?
