I'd say that Discover has better quality recordings than SSO (can't really compare it to VSCO2, since that's a different type of library), but other than that, SSO does most things better. It has 2x RR's on short articulations, velocity layers on some percussion, and at least some attempt at faking dynamics with a lowpass filters. Discover has none of that.
Honestly, though, I'm more disappointed with the lack of keyswitches, multitimbrality and multi-outs. I was hoping I could put this on my old laptop as a quick sketching library, just a single plugin for an entire orchestra. But nope. Gonna need some four dozen plugins to load up the entire thing (that is not much to write home about to begin with)! What a wasted opportunity, Spitfire. You almost had the be all, end all cheap/free orchestral sample library on your hands here, which would have gained you tons of goodwill and potential future customers. But you chose to be cheap corporate dicks.
