If you're working with VSCO 2, everything 'short' is 2 RR. If you don't mind giving that luxury up, it's a simple matter of getting it to at least a double. Just remove and/or make the random ranges at the top of each group overlap (i.e. random low = 0, random high = 1 for both).
Then just add a third instrument from Sonatina or NBO and voila! 3p section.
If you want to have more fun, pan one of the groups slightly left and the other right, so they don't phase too bad (You can do that with Opcodes, just put them under the group header, I believe- should work). Since VSCO 2 is all stereo, you should use some stereo width and position opcodes instead of (or in conjunction with) traditional pan opcodes.
