True, although I would never pay a musician less than $20/hr unless I was really desperate/strapped on cash. The word 'Contractor' is more what concerns me- with something like this, you can save thousands of dollars by doing as much as possible by yourself. If someone asked me to sample some low brass, that'd probably be $1000-2000 right there in fees for several instruments at decent quality in a good location- plus transportation, equipment, assistance, etc. The more official it gets, the more expensive.
