Personally, I prefer the first (it almost sounds like an old work song or something), but if it's set in a culture closer to the middle east, it might be better to do the latter.

Yep, that's kind of the reaction I expected.

Sam, did you hear that it's you playing the recorder BTW? Wink

Wow, I didn't recognize it layered like that! Very cool. If you're using the set up on Freesound, note that I did release the larger more detailed set as well. I believe it is here if I remember correctly-

I knew I saw that somewhere, thanks. I just grabbed some recorder samples from Freesound just to get going. I was actually wishing for something more detailed but hey, your 2014 samples do their job and they're a lot better than the other either a) badly looped or b) severely out of tune recorder samples that I have.

Hmm, yeah. Actually my favorite was the B version though I realize that the harmonic minor scale paints the wrong picture. I decided to rework the whole melody and this is where I ended up:

The sound I'm trying to capture here is something ancient, an iron age vibe.

Anvil of the blind god made me look around desperately for attacking nominators wielding massive iron axes and dive behind the couch.

Both tracks updated with various fixes and additions.

Wow, The Scourge of Brenland in particular is sounding fantastic! That piece would be amazing performed live, really fantastic composition and orchestration!

Wow, thanks Sam! That is no small praise Smile

I've also uploaded a sketch of the third track, A Raven among Hawks. I'm basically just jotting down ideas right now.

Wow Mattias, there's a lot more to this then I saw and heard in Reaper.  However, I've already told you what I think of you
and you certainly haven't disappointed me.  Smile  You actually have stories behind all of this.  I guess I shouldn't be suprised,
you not only have a gift, but a great talent.

At any rate I finally found you here, being the old fart that I am, it can take some doing.  Big Grin
