Between 1865 and 1872, a fellow named Schreiber made some very cool horns...

Just last week, a number of brass collectors got together to play some of these wild looking horns en masse for the first time in what might be 100 years. Such a wild sight! On the left are cornets, altos/tenors in the mid to right, and bass off to the far right.

Think how easy mic'ing would be with these babies. "Place one spot mic above bell."
