Thanks Sam!

I don't think you need to worry, at least not at present when it's just wave files. It takes a lot of work to create something useful out of the samples which I think is a pretty major deterrent. Most people want stuff that works right out of the box. Also, once you start digging it becomes clear that CE is a cut-down version with many limitations, which will probably entice people into getting one of the commercial editions instead.

Providing VSTi versions of CE on the other hand... that might indeed impact sales.

Point well taken! The VSTi will be extremely limited, almost more like an updated VSCO 1. I want to target it more towards students in theory programs at school, more of an educational tool- lots of info, text, very sparse controls, just the essential info.
Hey guys,

I have now made the folder-to-sfz converter free- http://vis.versilstudios.net/sfzconverter.html
(I don't think anyone was ever going to buy it anyway... despite how incredibly handy it is)

I also did a short stream where I made all the .sfz woodwind instruments (~370 files, fully mapped and volume-adjusted) in 30 minutes w/ commentary-

I'll be uploading the instruments later tonight... I'm going along so well right now I can't help but finish, hahaha
Ok! Here's everything except the non-pitched percussion... that will take more brainpower than I have right now, haha

That's great and that was fast.

Would you consider making the .sfz files available as a separate download? Otherwise every change/addition to the .sfz files means another download of 1.9G of wave files just to download the latest .sfz files.

Yes, as soon as I normalize the modifications to the sample set (I had to add 'rr' to a lot of the samples that have rr's). Then I will release it in the form of a patch for those who have previously downloaded it, and the latest complete package for those who haven't. I do not know if I will update the raw sample pack to the latest set... any thoughts? I don't want to become incompatible with the work people like Bigcat have done so far.

The only thing I can think of to suggest is version control. In fact, if you want this to be a community edition where people are encouraged to contribute updates, you might need something like that. Then it's possible for others to create .sfz files or Kontakt files that work with a specific version, leaving you free to update without worrying about incompatibilities with earlier versions.
